Following the 2017 Grenfell Tragedy guidelines around the use of combustible cladding came under a great deal of scrutiny, on 2 October 2018 the Government confirmed that Building Regulations would be changed to prevent any possible future tragedies such as Grenfell. Whilst final confirmation is still awaited concerning the change to Building Regulations, insurance companies have stepped in and amended their requirements to ensure the total removal of combustible cladding on new buildings. To futureproof the building our client instructed FYR to change every panel on all elevations from Ground Floor up, irrespective of the height of the building.
FYR worked with both the relevant insurance companies and cladding contractors to engineer a new solution that could be installed on the existing frame and meet all current and future requirements for cladding installation.
